Neeme One-Outered In $4k Pot

With more and more poker players moving from Twitch to YouTube, one of the most interesting of the new poker bloggers is Andrew Neeme with his longer (around 20 minute) video essays on poker and the poker life. In his most recent one he gets a little philosophical pondering a sick, sick beat.

About halfway through a live $5/$10 session he finds himself looking down at two queens in the hole. Walking us through the hand in a nifty split screen format – his talking head on one side and a hole cam on the other, Neeme puts in a three bet over the UTG raise and gets two callers.

(Watch from 9:30)

Calling it a day, Neeme heads out for fish tacos but, for the second bad beat of the night, fish tacos are only on the menu at lunchtime. Not that he’s getting much pity on that score, the ceviche and gumbo look pretty instagrammable in their own right.

Turning to camera as he heads to the beach for a post-prandial drone flight, he says:

"Some people might be asking ‘is it such a good idea to go out for dinner after you just book a massive loss?’"

Neeme knows his hourly rate, and that’s how he decides if he can afford a fish taco (or ceviche) of an evening. There’s always tomorrow’s game.

"You can’t be sweating the individual losses, you have to be looking long term at these sorts of things.”

Then as if to remind us just how small that $4,000 pot is in the larger scheme of things, the camera climbs away from the beach under the power of Neeme’s remote controlled drone, and we get to see (what I assume is) Venice Beach from above, the lights of the casino just tiny specks on the horizon.
