Christmas has come early for lovers of poker apps, with PokerStars unveiling their fast-paced free-to-play poker game - Jackpot Poker.

Aimed at casual players, the app for Android and iOS mobile phones offers players the chance to win a fortune in the hugely popular Spin & Go format, test themselves in PlayMoney games and tournaments, or join in the social media side of poker, with a host of other benefits on offer too.

"Mobile gamers are going to love the fast-paced poker action that they can only get on the Jackpot Poker app,” said Lloyd Melnick, Director of Social Gaming at PokerStars.

By bringing Spin & Go jackpot tournaments to mobile devices, PokerStars has captured the most exciting innovation in poker in recent years and made it available to everyone with an iOS or Android smartphone.

The Spin & Go format has been successful beyond all expectations. The 3-handed, hyper-turbo tournaments with a variety of buy-ins from $5 up to $100 have already made 12 millionaires – 7 of those coming in the last month through the PokerStars anniversary promotion.

These “adrenaline-fuelled short burst games” often produce a tournament winner within 10 minutes of play and have “revolutionised the world of online poker in the last year”, according to the site.

Jackpot Poker, an evolution of PokerStars’ original Facebook app which is also available for free, is the only social poker game to offer this innovative tournament format to players and is described as a “fast-paced, made-for-mobile free poker game which puts the thrill and excitement of tournament poker in your hands.”

With an in-built quiz to test your knowledge of poker strategy and a tutorial section to help you to extend it, the app is aimed at the casual poker player who will be able to “boost their play money bankrolls through daily rewards, in-app promotions, and refer-a-friend bonuses.”

You can view the game in action here and find the app in GooglePlay (Android) and iOS stores or on Facebook.
