Fabrizio Gonzalez

Unquestionably the best poker player to ever come out of Uruguay.

Unquestionably the best poker player to ever come out of Uruguay, Fabrizio Gonzalez is most-widely known for his tournament achievements in the online world. Playing under the name ‘sixthsense19’ on PokerStars, the Montevideo-born pro’s winnings in MTTs on this site have nearly reached the $4,000,000 mark. He has multiple WCOOP titles to his name, including a 2010 win in the $530 NLHE Heads-Up event for $120,000 as well as a more recent victory in the 2016 $1,050 Triple Draw 2-7 Championship tournament. Funnily enough, his biggest achievement in financial terms was in an event he didn’t even win. Gonzalez’s second-place finish in the $21,000 buy-in WCOOP PLO High Roller tournament earned him a hefty $355,731 for the deep run.

He’s had success at other online cardrooms as well – Fabrizio has over $1,000,000 in winnings at PartyPoker (under the aliases ‘DrMikee’ and ‘gotunagi19’) and another $500,000+ at Full Tilt and 888. In 2017, he achieved what all MTT online grinders dream of - ranking first on the PocketFives tournament leaderboard.

This accomplishment was not without controversy though. The same year, Gonzalez faced allegations made by another high stakes tournament regular (Steve O’Dwyer) regarding soft-play, collusion and apparent involvement in chip dumping (you can read more about this story at https://www.pokertube.com/article/steve-o-dwyer-gets-gonzalez-banned-after-accusing-him-of-soft-playing-colluding). PokerStars have banned Fabrizio from playing on the site since these reports were filed, but the Uruguayan continues to grind at other online cardrooms where his accounts are still available.

Fabrizio has also made a number of live circuit appearances, most regularly in North America when he makes the trip over for the WSOP. In 2015, he shipped a $2,650 No Limit Hold’em Freezeout event in Hollywood for $236,400. This achievement marked his largest live score to date, but is remarkably only one of five six-figure cashes he has picked up playing live poker since 2011. A deep run in the 2012 WSOP Main Event saw Gonzalez pick up almost $200,000 after he exited the tournament in 45th.
