Dan Bilzerian and Dakota Meyer Feud Escalates to Fistfight Challenge1 week ago
While Vegas still mourns, left reeling from the 58 dead and hundreds more injured in the mass shooting on October 1st outside the Mandalay Bay Casino and Hotel, Dan Bilzerian and Dakota Meyer are still squabbling away – the son-in-law of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin challenging the Instagram king to a fistfight to settle their differences.
The squalid dispute began when Meyer described Bilzerian as “disgusting” for fleeing the scene of the carnage when 64-year old Stephen Paddock opened fire on a crowd of concert-goers from the window of his 32nd floor hotel room. Meyer wrote:
“A woman just got shot in the head and you are running away filming. People are dying, you're running away not helping them and pretending it's worthy of a video, it is disgusting.”
Bilzerian responded and also released footage from a friend’s phone describing “what really happened” in which Bilzerian is seen helping an injured woman and asking an LVPD officer for a gun in order to help police. The policeman allegedly responded:
“No, get the f–k away from me right now. I don’t know who the f–k you are… you know better than that.”
Bilzerian added to the video, stating:
“I’m a sworn commissioned reserve police officer, I wouldn’t normally tell you that, but I think it’s important you know that for the context of this video. I am not a medic or a hero in anyway, my instinct when someone is shooting at me is to get a gun and shoot back.”
Meyer had previously tweeted: “@danbilzerian this is what kills me about people like you. Always playing ‘operator dress up’ and so so tough when the cameras are on,” the playboy high-stakes poker player retorting that Meyer was a “retard”.
Along with his friend’s footage, Bilzerian wrote:
"There’s a lot of media and keyboard commandos saying people who ran were cowards, this is probably the dumbest thing I’ve ever read, and the next time there is a mass shooting, everyone who doesn’t have a gun should absolutely run, it is so sad and pathetic that I even have to clarify that in anyway. I really can’t believe the kinda bullshit the media is feeding people these days."
The tit-for-tat continued in the intervening days, Bilzerian coming in for criticism from the Medal of Honor hero Meyer for ‘divulging his wife’s phone number publicly’. He accused Dan Bilzerian of giving out his wife Bristol Palin's phone number to his friends, which he claimed had led to a series of prank calls to her.
"Why don't we handle this like men? You got it? You got it, Dan? I'm waiting," he wrote.
Taking to Instagram, Meyer rather bizarrely challenged Bilzerian to a fistfight, claiming that:
"My family is my purpose… and now you’re my mission… you just need to tell me when and where.”
Bilzerian hasn’t yet publicly responded to Meyer’s video.
