Daniel Negreanu and Amanda Leatherman Fire Back at Online Trolls

Once again, some in the poker community have a strange fascination with Daniel Negreanu’s love life. This time, however, he answered. 

A few days ago, we published an article on Daniel Negreanu’s relationship with Amanda Leatherman. It was successful in great part thanks to Daniel and Amanda themselves retweeting it. 

We appreciate the retweets — they offered a clear look at the trolls targeting the couple. Rather than amplifying negativity by sharing those posts, we’re highlighting the sharp, good-humored replies from Daniel Negreanu, Amanda Leatherman, and their friends.a glimpse at their trolls

No matter what opinions people hold about Negreanu or Leatherman, it’s refreshing to see the poker community standing together. While Poker Twitter often seems like a battleground of rival egos, this exchange — along with other December headlines — proves that camaraderie and support still thrive within the game.

Despite what you may think of Negreanu or Leatherman, it is great to see that members of this community do, in fact, stick up for each other. Poker Twitter sometimes gives the impression that everybody hates everybody, this and other December news prove that’s not (always) the case. 

If I may editorialize for a bit, I don’t get why people become so invested in a celebrity’s relationship, much less a poker celebrity’s. No offense to Daniel or Amanda, but I doubt TMZ is knocking down doors searching for the latest scoop on their status. 

And yet, their personal lives is something people in the community feel compelled to comment on. I don’t get it. Trust me, I realize this is the second article I write about their relationship in a week, but I’m being paid to care about it because you guys do so for free. 

You guys are being weird, is all I’m saying.
