Doug Polk took to his YouTube channel recently to inform his 57,000+ subscribers his plans for the future with regard to producing video content, streaming his play, and his lab work at Upswing Poker.

Polk covered all the bases, taking a shade more than 24 minutes to explain exactly what his growing number of fans can expect from him in the near future. One thing is certain after Polk delivered his State of the Channel address - we will continue to see Doug all over the place, more so in some areas than others.

Building a Community

A desire to build a community of people who enjoy the content he is producing has Polk spending lots of time on various Internet platforms. That won't end anytime soon, but it will require the 28-year-old to devote more of his time to certain endeavors in order to make the greatest impact toward accomplishing his goal.

That goal of building a community includes advanced and recreational players alike. Unfortunately, both groups of players are not always attracted to the same type of content, forcing Polk to be cognizant of the needs of both.

Losing the Itch to Twitch

Putting out almost daily YouTube videos on weekdays, streaming on Twitch, creating coaching videos for Upswing Poker, and being active on social media are all ways in which Polk has plastered his name on practically everything related to poker. His fans will continue to find him on those outlets, but less so as a Twitch streamer.

"Twitch is a really difficult platform to succeed on," Polk admitted, adding that it takes a lot of hours to grind away. His informative and entertaining YouTube videos, including "Poker Hands With Doug Polk," take only an hour or so, which has prompted him to adjust his focus away from Twitch and over to YouTube.

But fans can rest assured that Polk won't abandon Twitch altogether, as he stated that he likes to jump on the streaming platform now and again to play poker and interact with his followers. Plus, there is a certain Bankroll Challenge that is nowhere near complete. Polk has promised that the challenge will continue and be met!

Other Appearances

In addition to the above-mentioned plans, Doug is scheduled to play "Live at the Bike" from February 14-17. The following month, Polk will get behind the microphone as commentator for the grudge match between Cate Hall and Mike Dentale on Poker Night in America.

Aside from the commentator gig, Polk will also play poker on PNIA at the Sugarhouse Casino in Philadelphia. In the spring, his itinerary includes a trip to Canada to enter and stream a number of SCOOP events on PokerStars.
