Fiesta Time for Michael Lech as he Bags WSOP Bracelet and $164k
16 Jul

The WSOP online celebrations continued apace as Michael 'miguelfiesta' Lech treated fans to a homegrown dance after scooping $164,248 and a shiny gold bracelet to add to his 8 Circuit rings.

The $1,500 buy-in NLHE High Roller Freezeout pulled in 649 entries, meaning a $924,825 prizepool as the 13th of 31 bracelet events on played out, with a further 84 bracelets tournaments set to kick off in just a few days’ time on GGPoker.

There would be 99 players in the money, with Dylan 'thedogsofwar' Wilkerson the unfortunate bubble, but Daniel Negreanu was in there again, DNegs taking 27th place and $6,381.

The previous day’s bracelet winner, Ryan 'Joeyisamush' Depaulo, had another deep run – 23rd and $6,381.29, this time from the comfort of a hotel room rather than his carpark grindstation!

Come the final table, and Connor '666666' Drinan was the outstanding pro name to bag a seat, although Megan 'wolverine17' Milburn was the headline news following Mike Matusow’s recent hunt for his event 5 vanquisher.

Milburn couldn’t get further than 8th place and an $18,404 cash, wile Drinan fell in 6th spot for $29,964 – a $100k bracelet bet with Negreanu at 2.5/1 odds having to wait for another day.

When they finally reached heads-up, it was Lech against William 'SlaweelRyam' Romaine and when both players hit the flop the chips were quickly in the middle…

Romaine: 10♣ 8♠

…meaning Lech had taken his first WSOP gold bracelet, breaking through the $1million WSOP winnings milestone in the process.
