Finnish high-stakes poker legend Ilari ‘Ziigmund’ Sahamies is a survivor in more ways than one, and fans of the hard-partying, rap-loving PLO beast can catch him on Finnish TV as he attempts to land the €30,000 ($35,000) top prize for outlasting teammates and opponents on the reality TV show Survivor – former Miss Finland and poker-playing model Sara Chafak still surviving too!

Although the show was filmed last summer in the Philippines, the show is only now airing on TV, with the winner being a closely-guarded secret – although Sahamies is still in there, although his strategy is apparently completely different from his famously aggressive play at the poker tables…

With only 10 of the original 16 celebrity contestants still standing, the one who has gained a lot of attention – for obvious reasons – is 2012’s Miss Finland, Sara Chafak…

The reality TV show is well-known worldwide, and the Finnish version follows the same format, Sahamies, Chafak and the others completing tasks and challenges for rewards, while trying to out-manouevre the others and hope that they vote off the opposition. Sahamies, it seems, is betting on going unnoticed as a challenger for the title…

Sahamies legendary online poker career under the nickname ‘Ziigmund’ on Full Tilt and ‘Ilari FIN’ on PokerStars has seen him win $millions and take on the world’s best players along the way, Phil Ivey, Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom, Tom ‘durrr’ Dwan and Patrik Antonius among them…

…whereas his poker-playing rival for the Survivor title, Sara Chafak, although no stranger to the poker tables, has a long way to go to rival her compatriot… despite some impressive bluffing…

With a number of episodes and many challenges still to go, Sahamies and Chafak’s Survivor adventures could go all the way to the wire – and although there are no English (or any other!) subtitles on the Finnish show, it’s still worth watching!
