partypoker have snapped up the services of comic actor Kevin Hart, the poker-loving funnyman promising to help the red diamond site ‘promote poker to new and amateur players’

The 40-year old superstar who made his name as a stand-up comedian before appearing in blockbuster movies such as Get Hard and Jumanji has left his role with rivals PokerStars to become a “global ambassador” for partypoker.

"I asked my man Kevin Hart to help me promote amateur poker," said partypoker maestro Rob Yong, adding: "He's the highest stakes amateur player in the world and I want him to help me promote amateur poker… promote poker to the masses."

The surprise announcement followed a highstakes cash game Yong played along with Hart, Andrew Robl and Jean-Robert Bellande.

The $200million net worth Hart is regularly seen playing with poker’s biggest names, pro and amateur  -  with private home games against the likes of Dan Bilzerian and JayZ among the latter.

Hart’s approach may be just what the ‘amateur poker doctor’ ordered, the comedy actor stating of his new role:

"I'm here to party, I'm here to make it a good time. Expect the world of poker to get a lot more fun. Expect it to get real, and expect us to get rid of all of the people that make it so fucking technical, man."

Hart has recovered from a serious car crash last year that saw him hospitalised and convalescing at home for several months. Now, or whenever live poker starts up again, we can expect to see the funnyman sporting the partypoker brand.
