One of the biggest payouts in Las Vegas recently wasn’t at the World Series of Poker but rather a $2.2million slot machine scoop at the Aria, and it only cost the lucky punter a $7 bet...

The anonymous luckbox struck gold while playing the Wheel of Fortune Gold Spin Triple Gold Megatower slot last Friday at the MGM Resorts-owned Aria Resort and Casino.

The winner is believed to be an Aria reg who is “over the moon” at his big win, the $2.1million jackpot one of the biggest in recent years.

The Wheel of Fortune Gold Spin Triple Gold Megatower slot machine game is renowned for its big payouts, a regular “millionaire maker” among the city’s slots with over $3 billion in jackpots paid out and over 1,000 millionaires created.

Part of the popular Wheel of Fortune slot series based on the popular TV game show, the game features three reels, and the winning combination is three Wheel of Fortune symbols.

The series has been a hit with players since it was first released in the 1990s and was awarded 2nd place in the Best Music, Movie or TV-themed slot at the 2019 Best Slot Awards.

The Aria casino is said to be thrilled for the lucky player and celebrated the win with him, while a spokesperson for the game’s developer, IGT, announced the recent monster win.
