Partypoker and WPT go Deepstack in December in Deauville

With the partypoker and WPT brands criss-crossing the globe this year, it will soon be time for France to take centre stage, the WPTDeepStacks descending on delightful Deauville early in December for six days of non-stop action.

The iconic Casino de Deauville will play host to the 9-event series, and the 'Parisian Riviera' will offer something a little different when it kicks off on December 4th – concentrating on poker not so easy when you have golf courses, horse races, chic boutiques and the Normandy coast all vying for attention.

Poker will be the main attraction, of course, and here’s a rundown of the schedule awaiting the faithful on their pre-Christmas French adventure.

WPTDS Deauville Main Event

With a buy-in of $1361, the flagship tournament of the series will almost certainly attract the best of the locals, and you can be sure they’ll have plenty of competition from their European counterparts.

Dutchman Danny van Zijp will be tempted to try his hand across the border, having just taken down the WPTDeepStacks Brussels Main Event last week for a lifetime best score of €110,000 ($123,531).

Live and Online Satellites

There will of course be live satellites in the days leading up to the biggie, €170+30 buy-ins as good a way as any to get your seat on the cheap and aim for a huge score.

Naturally, partypoker will also be feeding plenty of players into the Main Event, and online satellites start from as little as $1.10 if you fancy laddering your way up to a seat.

Their PP LIVE Dollars currency is also up for grabs across a range of satties, which allows you to pick and choose which events you play – and even pay for your buy-ins, hotel and travel to Deauville.

WPTDS Deauville Side events

There are tournaments and buy-ins to suit everyone it seems, the Ladies event sure to be popular with a lowly €90+10 buy-in, while the WPTDS High Roller at €1800+200 looks set to be one of the most sought after titles on offer.

The Survivor and Bounty events are always a treat for poker players – adding an element of fun and excitement to the more serious aspects of the game, and there is a DeepStack Omaha tournament for those who don’t like only 2 cards to play with.

With the Main Event, High Roller and Poker Cup all culminating on the final day, December 9th, there will be a lot of happy faces in Deauville, but even if you can’t make it you can join in the fun…
