Only 130 days to go! No, not until Christmas, but rather the vastly more important (for poker players at least) PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 2016. Record numbers are expected to flock to the Caribbean poker oasis, the Atlantis Resort in Nassau, which will host the largest-ever PCA in history.

Starting on January 6th with the $100,000 NLHE Super High Roller (won last year by Steve O’Dwyer, netting the American a cool $1.87m) the Paradise Island festival will feature more than 100 events over a vast array of disciplines and buy-ins.

Massively up from the 35 events last year’s edition hosted, the organisers are allowing for two days 1’s in the $5,300 Main Event, which starts on January 8th. Down from its $10,000 buy-in last year, the organisers have brought it in line with their other EPT events and can expect to attract a huge field. Last year another American, Kevin Schulz, walked off with the $1.49m main event 1st prize.

PokerStars will be running online satellites starting in September, and Director of PokerStars Live events Edgar Stuchly stated: “People come from all over the world to compete in the Bahamas and enjoy the Caribbean climate”, continuing, “what our players really relish is the chance to play lots of poker, so that’s exactly what we’ll be offering”.
