A familiar face at EPT and WPT events on the European continent will be sorely missing after the passing of Faleceu Ayaz Manji, who died from a sudden illness at the young age of 47.

Manji had career earnings of $417,410 on the live tournament circuit in over a decade of action. His best recorded cash came in 2012 in a $10,500 High Roller at the WPT Emperors Palace Poker Classic in Johannesburg where a 2nd place finish was good for $92,626.

His most recent payday occurred last month in a €350 Six-Max event at the WPT DeepStacks in Portugal, with Manji landing in 7th place for €880 ($1,044). The Hendon Mob database lists Manji in 14th place on Portugal's all-time money list.

Smiling and Happy

It was also last month that Manji left this world, according to Ptpoker.com, leaving an imprint on the lives of his fellow poker players who had nothing but kind words to say about the man. Kevin MacPhee let his feelings for Manji be known via social media with the following tweets:

Playing under the monikers of "caicu" on PokerStars and "doctor machine" on Full Tilt, Manji was even more prolific on the virtual felt with cashes totaling $664,051, according to Pocket Fives. Third place in the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up in 2013 added $75,818 to his bankroll, followed three months later with another cash for $17K for 5th place in the PokerStars Sunday 500.

Manji tasted victory a few times in his career as well. He topped a small field of 16 in 2011 in a €2,500 High Rollers Event in his home country for €17,480 ($23,801). A $265 Knockout event at PokerStars in 2015 featuring a $20K guarantee was his most recent online championship and brought a payday of $5,250.

The illness that claimed the life of Manji is not yet known. May he rest in peace.
