The Illest Becomes the Thrillist as Kelly Minkin 5-bet Bluffs with Seven-Deuce

It’s the worst starting hand in poker and most of us muck it quicker than we can say seven-two offsuit. What we don’t tend to do is raise with it, and never 4-bet with it and only in our most drunken crazy moments would we ever 5-bet jam with the ugly hand… and even then only for shits and giggles - but Kelly Minkin just did it for real!
Minkin, known as the Illest and the Chillest - and perhaps now also the Thrillist – set pulses racing at the Main Event last month, eventually finishing in 50th spot for a $156,265 payday which took her live tournament earnings surging past the $1million milestone, and her fearless approach to the game continued on Poker Night in America this week…
…her sick - and winning – 7-2 play pushing Lily Kiletto off her suited big slick prompting a couple of prop bets to delight the fans…
With Vanessa Selbst retiring from the game, poker needs a new brave and bloodthirsty female to grab the reins, and Minkin may just be the one to emerge from the pack as leading lady, something she has managed twice in 4 years at the WSOP Main Event…
…but by the looks of the PNiA Ladies Night cash game line-up she’ll have plenty of competition!
