The best thing about being a journalist is that you get to stick your nose into other people’s business and claim that it’s work! We all know, of course, that most people are airing their views and sometimes dirty laundry in public these days.

Twitter and Facebook are the new garden fence over which poker pros happily swap their gossip and thoughts, so to save you the trouble of nosing about yourself, here’s what the big names are talking about this week…

Daniel Negreanu

There is a joke which does the rounds on Facebook every, oh, day or so!

"How do you tell if someone is a vegan or not? Don’t worry, they’ll tell you within five minutes of meeting you!"

My vegan diet is also gluten free.
Lentils ChickPeas Peas
Broccoli Kale Spinach
Bananas blue & goji Berry
Pistachios Almonds Walnuts

Of course, Canadian superstar ‘KidPoker’ Negreanu is one of the most prolific tweeters in the poker community, and he’s certainly not averse to some public naming and shaming and gossip – but this recent tweet actually had me in stitches, although surprisingly Daniel himself didn’t require any after this photo-op!

There are many players on the poker scene you might expect to see in such a pose – MMA wannabeOlivier Busquet? High-stakes playboy Dan Bilzerian perhaps? Even Chris Moneymaker given his new-found aggression away from the table.

Daniel Negreanu, however, isn’t one of them – but his post elicited dozens of interested replies and diet/training based questions. And even I have to admit that the scrawny little Negreanu of old seems to be looking fit and ready to rumble. Did I mention he’s a vegan? )

But having already called out Donald Trump, Chris ‘Jesus’ Ferguson and Mike Matusow, who will his next target be?

Sorel Mizzi

The current bad boy of the poker community has a way of reversing the title of the old book ‘How to win friends and influence people’. What has he been up to now? Just tweeting about black people and slavery – neither of which I suspect he either is, or knows much about. Naturally this hasn’t stopped him though…

True or not, it’s unlikely that anyone will be looking to Mizzi for ethical guidance anytime soon given his history of ignoring the rules and laws of poker as reported by us here, here and a more general view from his recent ChicagoJoey podcast appearance here.

Do as I say not as I do appears to be the Mizzi motto!

Liv Boeree

Liv hardly ever fails to impress – on and off the poker table – and her recent visit to the Burning Man festival in Nevada along with a host of other top pros could provide content for months to come.

Whether the pharaoh in question is Liv’s long-time partner Igor Kurganov or not I can’t tell from here.

Fedor Holz

If we take a sharp right at the Burning Man and swerve around Sorel Mizzi’s misdeeds, we find ourselves at the front door of a player who I feel I have written about more than any other poker pro this year!

Fedor ‘CrownUpGuy’ Holz – unstoppable, running like god and on the way out are just some of the wunderkinds appearances on our pages in 2016, and as you’d expect from a serious and intelligent young man his latest tweet differs somewhat from our other famous faces on Twitter this week.

I haven’t read this one (yet), but it fits in with my view about books and poker which should appear soon – we all know you dear readers can actually read too, so don’t be shy about sharing your favorite paperbacks with us all!

Phil Hellmuth

In case you’re all wondering if the big-name poker pros EVER tweet anything to do with the game, here’s big Phil preparing for his next event in time-honored poker pro fashion!
