Chris Moorman

Chris Moorman, also known online as “Moorman1” is the most successful online poker player in the history of the game.

Born in 1985, Chris Moorman, also known online as “Moorman1” is the most successful online poker player in the history of the game. His poker career didn't start until he began attending the university, but playing games was a passion for Chris since his early childhood. At the age of 11 he started playing bridge, and soon discovered his natural talents for card games. While attending the University of Essex, he led his university pool team to victory in the National University Championship. It was while he was returning from a pool tournament that he heard about free online poker tournaments. He started to play on a regular basis, and became infatuated with the game. He won $70 in one of these freerolls, and started to build up his bankroll, mastering the game as he went along. The combination of talent and hard work paid off for Chris very soon. Although his first WSOP cash dates back to 2008, it wasn't until 2011 that Chris exploded onto the poker scene. The year started off great for him, as he final tabled the Aussie Millions Main Event, coming 7th for $173,000. He went to Las Vegas over the summer to attend the World Series of Poker, and made two more final tables there, while also cashing three other events. The year kept going uphill as he also came 2nd in the WSOP Europe Main Event for more than $1 million, but the title of the WSOP player of the year still eluded him, as Ben Lamb's fantastic year could not be matched. After this breakthrough year, Chris was signed on by Lock poker as one of their elite team members. This deal has been terminated in 2013, when Chris publicly left the company, as they failed to honor their obligations to a number of players. His $3 million in live cashes is a feat in itself, but is overshadowed by the Brit's online career. With $10.9 million in online cashes, he sits at the top of the All Time Online Poker Money List. In fact, not only is Chris Moorman at the top of the list, but he leads by a solid $3 million, which will hardly change any time soon, as he remains one of the hardest workers in the industry. His biggest online win came in the $1k dollar buyin tournament on Full Tilt poker, shortly before Black Friday, in which he won $235,000 for placing 3rd. Other then this major cash, Chris has placed 1st in 226 other tracked tournaments, and second in another 146. The best all time online tournament player has also won the highest number of Pocket Fives Triple Crowns, which is a hard accolade to earn even once. Chris, however, holds 20 of these virtual trinkets. While his results to date are certainly impressive, what might impress even more is the level of motivation and enthusiasm that he still has for the game. His four cashes at the 2013 WSOP as well as countless other results on different tours around the world are a warning signs to anyone who would think for a minute that the time of Chris Moorman has passed.
