Jake Schindler

Despite seemingly willing to play at any stakes in any type of game, the Pennsylvania-born Schindler has managed to keep a fairly low profile on the poker scene.

Despite seemingly willing to play at any stakes in any type of game – whether it be a tournament or cash game – the Pennsylvania-born Schindler has managed to keep a fairly low profile on the poker scene. He is best known for his deep run in the 2017 $300,000 Super High Roller Bowl for $3,600,000, finishing runner-up to a worthy winner in Christoph Vogelsang. His style is characterised by aggressive play, with Jake having no reservations about making bluffs in uncommon spots where other players might shy away from doing so.

During his rise as a poker player, Schindler played online at PokerStars under the screenname ‘CaLLitARUSH’. With a WCOOP title to his name in 2013, Jake had much success in the online MTT scene in that year and finished in the top 0.02% of players according to the Official Poker Rankings site. However, he experienced issues with PokerStars 18 months on after they suspected he’d breached their Terms of Service, seizing $250,000 from his account and banning him from playing both online and at PokerStars live events. (You can read Jake’s own account of the events over at 2+2).

For Jake, this setback in the online world might just have been a blessing in disguise. Off the back of a successful 2013, Jake begun 2014 triumphantly with a victory in the PCA $25,000 High Roller Event for $1,192,624. He had to beat a who’s who of tournament crushers to get there – Greg Merson, Vanessa Selbst, Mustapha Kanit, Daniel Negreanu, Philipp Gruissem and Ole Schemion. Following his conflict with PokerStars in 2015, Jake has stayed within the U.S. to play live poker, garnering much success in the high-stakes tournaments that run in Las Vegas. A regular in the $25,000 Aria High Roller tournaments, he has won this specific event five times to date for a total of over $1,500,000 and made the final table at least twice this amount. After his huge score at the Super High Roller Bowl in 2017, Schindler’s live tournament winnings have now passed $13,000,000.
