Biography Olivia ‘Liv’ Boeree
Liv Boeree, also known as Iron Maiden because of her love for heavy metal music, has shot to fame in the poker world, not just for her model-good-looks but also due to her skills on the felt.
Initially introduced to the game on the reality TV show ‘Ultimatepoker.com Showdown’ where she was coached by pros Phil Hellmuth, Annie Duke and Dave ‘Devilfish’ Ulliot, Boeree began to hone her game at the Gutshot Club in London. From here she was offered the opportunity to join Gutshot TV as an on-screen reporter at the World Series of Poker, later becoming the host of Challenge TV’s online coverage of the European Poker Tour. In May 2008 Boeree first began to receive attention in the poker world after taking down the Ladbrokes European Ladies Championship for £30,000.
Following this success Boeree has cashed at 12 World Series of Poker events, including 18th at the WSOPE 2012 main event for $34,718, and 36th at the WSOPE 2011 main event for $36,736.Boeree’s biggest win to date is when she took down the 2010 EPT event in Sanremo for €1,250,000. In addition to this massive win, Boeree also accomplished the illustrious achievement of becoming just the third women to win an EPT event, behind Vicky Coren and Sandra Naujoks.
Boeree has gained international media attention as a model in addition to her poker play, posing for magazines such as Maxim, Loaded, Sport Magazine UK and Card Player. This has definitely enhanced her reputation, and helped Liv become a favourite of poker fans everywhere.
