Milestones in poker are certainly not new, but they still mean a huge amount to those who reach them and their fans, so when poker vlogger par excellenceAndrew Neeme hit 50,000 subscribers in only his 48th vlog it was an incredible achievement – and definitely worthy of note!

The quiet man of poker vlogging - in a YouTube genre filled with loud voices and even louder clothes -  Neeme is a thoughtful and very genuine new star of the vlogging community, and has steadily been building his fanbase with a mixture of interesting play, well-crafted videos and insights into life as a mid-stakes grinder pro.

“The Bellagio… Las Vegas… Nevada. Perhaps you’ve heard of it?” says Neeme, hamming it up for the crowd as the YouTube sub counter ticks ever-closer to the magic 50K figure – which outs him up there among the big boys of the game as seen in our recent Doug Polk/Joey Ingram match-up!

It’s a tired Neeme who finishes a 9-hour session and begs off analysing them in favour of some sleep – something he’ll have to get used to when he finally gets married, having divulged his engagement and bachelor party plans in his recent interview with Pete ‘Manz’ Manzinelli.

Next day, however, it’s a fresh and re-invigorated Neeme who takes us to one of his favourite Vegas haunts to share a beer and talk about his previous evening’s winning session – a hard-won $630, digging himself out of a 120BB hole from early on – and to reveal his big milestone news.

Atomic Liquor, his bar of choice, was where Neeme filmed his pilot blog – so where better to share the breaking of the 50,000 subscriber barrier.

“Slightly humbled, slightly amazed, slightly excited, slightly baffled,” says our man in Nevada, although the wide smile shows exactly how he feels about things, and just at this point a fan appears in the beer garden!

Kevin, who tells Andrew that he put himself through school by playing online poker, turns out to be one of his earliest vlog fans – and although it turns out he lives in the same building as our vlogging king, it’s just a happy coincidence rather than a staged event – because Neeme (as Manz found out in his podcast) is just too damned nice to fake such a thing!

“No plans to stop anytime soon,” reveals our boy, and for his 50K and rising subscriber base that can only be good news – the genuinely good side of the game still exists, and it’s called Andrew Neeme.
