Global Poker’s Rattlesnake Open Twice as Big as Expected
04 May

It’s been double the size, double the action and double the prizemoney for those who have sunk their fangs into Global Poker’s Rattlesnake Open this week, with more than 3,000 players enjoying the opening freeroll event in the $1,250,000 online poker extravaganza!

It was St Louis player ‘floptkwods’ who took down the SC$5k guaranteed freeroll on Sunday, fending off 3,131 challengers to land the first Rattlesnake Open championship trophy of the festival, eventually defeating ‘chadman7il’ heads up to secure his place in Global Poker’s history books.

A classic final hand race finished things off nicely, the battling duo all-in pre-flop with ‘chadman7il’ the one at risk…

‘Floptkwods’: A♥ T♠

‘chadman7il’: 8♦ 8♣

When the board ran out…

 7♣ Q♠ A♠ A♦ Q♦

…a champion was crowned, ‘Floptkwods’ also lifting the first Global Poker Champions Pack of the season, and nicely setting up the next 3 weeks of big money action.

Guarantee after guarantee smashed!

Next up for the Global Poker faithful was Monday’s SC$10,000 guaranteed tournament, a SC$110 buy-in event which eventually saw a massive $22,700 in real cash prizes given away.

This time it was Chicago’s ‘CVo’ who emerged victorious and will be looking to try his luck again this coming weekend in this Sunday’s big one, boasting a huge SC$50,000 guarantee!

As always with Global Poker, players can buy-in directly (the Sunday biggie has a SC$218 buy-in) or you can qualify through satellites for as little as SC$0.55!

The action starts at 3:30pm EST and the Global Poker team are once again expecting the numbers to be massive, and the guarantee to be smashed, so head over to to get yourself involved -  maybe you’ll be the next Rattlesnake Open Champion!

About Global Poker

If it’s all a bit knew to you, the history of Global Poker is unique with last year’s Eagle Cup setting them on the road to becoming the fastest-growing poker site open to Americans.

This winter’s Grizzly Games solidified their reputation as an excellent cardroom with huge and varied offerings - and now the spring addition of the Rattlesnake Open promises to be the biggest tournament event in Global Poker history.

Global Poker’s $weeps Cash (SC$)

Looking for a way to re-introduce the game to the US market, Global Poker came up with a cunning plan
