Mike Dentale Rants On The Poker Life Podcast

She’s a fame-whore, she loves the attention…” says Mike Dentale of Cate Hall and he’s barely a couple of minutes into the most excruciating ChicagoJoeypodcast in living memory – the East Coast hardman of poker opening up with his true feelings about the woman he’s scheduled to play ‘Heads-up for Rolls’ in the coming months.

The Twitter war which erupted earlier this month grabbed the headlines for all the wrong reasons, Dentale calling Hall a ‘broke, homeless crackhead’ and a ‘cunt’ while she described him as a ‘pathetic sad-sack’ and a ‘bitch’. Getting Dentale onto his broadcast to discuss the ‘beef’ between the pair must have seemed like a great idea to ChicagoJoey Ingram, but 8 minutes in he’d hardly got a word in as Dentale kicked off on his adversary.

"It’s just the constant gloom-and-doom with her – like every fucking day!” starts Dentale, talking from his car. “Her Twitter feed it’s just like the world’s coming to an end! Trump’s gonna be President – just so much bullshit, it’s enough already!”

Describing himself as “conservative, but not far-right” while Hall “comes off in a way that she’s very far-left wing liberal”, Dentale states that although:

"She doesn’t play bad…She’s a fame-whore, she loves the attention…”

It’s hard to believe Dentale when he claims "I give you my word, anything I say is the truth – I don’t lie, I don’t bullshit… I say it like it is and that’s it,” simply because there are too many stories out there about his bad behavior at the tables and his interview is a bit of a train-wreck as well.

Of the Twitter argument, all started by a dubious all-in call she made in a recent tournament, he says:

"I told her, be respectful…she said ‘you’re a scumbag piece-of-shit, whatever’…you wanna get like that? You’re a fucking whore crack-head!”

He adds:

"I can be very nice… you wanna be disrespectful I can be disrespectful… you wanna bring, bring it! You wanna act like a dude I’m gonna treat you like a dude! Then she challenges me heads-up, which is the fucking biggest joke on the planet. Everybody with a brain knows heads-up proves absolute shit.”

Even so, Dentale agreed to the March showdown - a best-of-3, $10,000 freezeout played at $25/$50 to take place at Philadelphia’s SugarHouse Casino.

“We should be doing this without coaching and with our own money,” says Dentale and that’s about the only thing in the entire podcast I could agree with – but make up your own mind by viewing the interview!
