Phil Ivey Joins Virtue Poker As Advisor in Advance of Fall 2018 Launch1 year ago
The "in development" online poker site Virtue Poker has announced that Phil Ivey has joined the team as a strategic advisor.
The 10-time WSOP gold bracelet winner and edge sorter extraordinaire is the third poker pro to hitch his wagon to the Ethereum-based poker room that anticipates a launch in autumn of 2018. Dan Colman and Brian Rast were named as advisors a couple months ago.
“I’m looking forward to serving as a strategic advisor to the Virtue Poker team," Ivey stated in a press release. "I believe their new peer-to-peer solution built using blockchain technology can add significant value to the online poker experience.”
As a 2017 Poker Hall of Fame inductee and perhaps poker's best all-around player, Ivey will add value to the project as well. His areas of focus in his new advisory role will include product development, facilitating partnerships, and go-to-market strategy.
Integrity and Safety
Virtue Poker aims to be a poker room like no other. Trust and transparency are promised via a peer-to-peer decentralized poker platform that will do away with the possibility of player funds being mismanaged.
Instantaneous payouts sent automatically to the digital wallets of players after they leave the poker tables is one of the site's virtues. Another is card shuffling that somehow involves all the players at the table who each have a built-in random number generator.
Take a look at the following short video to better understand how Virtue Poker plans on operating:
Virtue Poker has been over two years in the making. It certainly will be an interesting launch and to see how the site will be received by players over time. Who wouldn't want a poker room where fairness and transparency are paramount?
The addition of Ivey gives Virtue Poker three advisors who are all within the top ten in live tournament earnings. All three have crushed online action as well.
