Rock Royalty Brings Down The Poker Night Live Full House

If you thought that Motörheadâs thunderous classic âAce of Spadesâ was the only link between poker and rock music youâd be very mistaken, and Poker Night Live aimed to educate the masses by hosting a âRock Royaltyâ evening on CBSSports, which saw a trio of metal stars taking on poker players and other celebrities.
The impressive line-up had Phil Hellmuth hooked, the Poker Brat not usually known for his taste in music, but inclusion of Alice in Chains guitarist and singer Jerry Cantrell, as well as Scott Ian, the guitarist and singer for Anthrax, had him hookedâŠ
Throw Eagles of Death Metal manager Marc Pollack, actress and model Shanna Moakler and WSOP champ Gavin Smith into the mix and the scene was set for an very interesting game of pokerâŠ
âŠ.with the obligatory âeye candyâ being provided by poker commentator and self-described comedian Joe âStapesâ StapletonâŠ
âŠalthough a better choice might have been Liv Boeree, whose love of metal music is well-documentedâŠ
Shanna Moakler, the Wedding Singer actress and former Miss New York, was quick to share her ârockstar groupieâ status on TwitterâŠ
âŠbut she had a lot of poker reasons to believe next time theyâll all be begging for a photo with her, as she took down the biggest pot of the Rock Royalty nightâŠ
The players had a blast, it seemsâŠ
âŠand hopefully this will set a trend for a few more, good music/poker crossovers, not unlike this song which might not challenge the Ace of Spades as best poker song ever, but would certainly have appealed to the PNiA Rock Royalty crew!
