The World Series of Poker 2018 has just kicked off, so we can expect a lot of pics and videos from the leading lights of the game over the next few weeks, anyone not in Vegas either giving up our beloved game or presumably on the Most Wanted list in Nevada. As ever, Gus Hansen found a way to worm his way to the top of this week’s IG offerings…

Gus Hansen in Bobby’s Room with Doyle Brunson

Hansen’s sex and alcohol antics are well in the past (a week or so at least!) and the Great Dane is back to what he does second best, playing poker in Vegas.

The bracelet events at the Rio aren’t usually to Hansen’s taste, but he does love a sweet high-stakes cash game, although we never seem to hear who comes out ahead in Bobby’s Room at the Bellagio – perhaps he’ll let us know by next week?

Chips and cards

As poker players we take it for granted that when we sit at the table everything will be ready and waiting, but our next Instagram pic shows a small part of what goes into running a massive 7-week long festival like the WSOP…

Hellmuth and Tilly share a table

Speaking of players and poker tables, the WSOP always provides a great opportunity for the biggest names to catch up with each other – and as early as the fiurst bracelet event we had Phil Hellmuth and Jennifer Tilly cosying up for the camera, and not a sign of cleavage (Phil covering up for once, but hatching plans for his annual Main Event entrance!)

Bonomo’s Vegas apartment

A $5million payday and cracking the $30million career milestone can buy you many things, but for Justin Bonomo it apparently can’t buy you tidiness, although the newly-crowned Super High Roller Bowl champion has hopefully sorted his Vegas accommodation out by now… because last week it wasn’t fit for a group of students.

Negreanu shares his secrets of success

To round things off on Instagram, Daniel Negreanu deserves a mention – although naturally Kid Poker hasn’t had time to update his vlogs with the latest in his long string of $multi-million cashes. We’ll have to make do with his hand analysis from the WPT Tournament of Champions – an insight into his own improvement methods perhaps?
