The fastest man in the world Usain Bolt may have lost last weekâs beach sprint against funny man and pokerâfanatic Kevin Hart, but the Jamaican superstar will be looking for revenge and ultimate victory this week as the PokerStars #GameOn Challenge comes to an epic conclusion â the much anticipated heads-up finale.
Billed as a âBattle of Wits, where social media is the scoreboardâ when it kicked off last summer, the pair have enlisted the help of experts along the way as they try to out-do each other by posting videos of the challenges to their 140 million combined social media following.
PokerStars biggest poker name, Daniel Negreanu, has been playing the role of referee and commentator along the way, agreeing to Hartâs 30 yard headstart last week which saw Hart proclaiming himself âthe fastest man in the worldâ after convincingly outrunning the 100 metres World record holder and multiple Olympic championâŠ
âŠbut Bolt responded to the embarrassing debacle by telling his fans and the media:
"The little funny man won't be laughing much longer when I take all his chips at the poker table," said Bolt.
Hart, on the other hand, retorted:
"Usain may be fast on the track but I'm going to be fast taking his chips at the table".
As Stars Group VP of Corporate Communications said of the good-natured rivalry:
"The #GameOn competition highlights the variety of skills it takes to be a good poker player including endurance, street smarts, bluffing, strategic thinking and reading your opponent," adding: âAt the same time, Kevin and Usain show the tremendous fun and friendly social competition at the heart of poker."
âWelcome to the Bahamas boys!â was Negreanuâs intro to the showdown part 1, introducing Bolt to his helper, Team PokerStars pro Fatima de Melo, on account of his social media numbers win â but would she be a help or a hindrance? Find out belowâŠ
