ACR Scam Again? Confiscate Players First Big Win!

ACR (Americas Cardroom), part of the Winning Poker Network (WPN) has found itself in Joey Ingram’s bad books once again, with a long-time losing player stuck over $1700 after the network decided to take it from him the very first time he won and tried to cash out.

The story appeared on Reddit’s poker forums, with user ‘imeugenelee’ sharing his tale of ACR woe and incompetence, stating:

“I attempted a withdrawal for $4022.73 on WPN last night and was notified today that my withdrawal attempt was denied and they will be confiscating $1756.15 because of a pending balance existing on another WPN skin.”

The problem with this, as he says, is that:

“I only play on True Poker and have over $20,000 in deposits (this being the first time I've withdrawn) :P"

For those who have been following the poker news recently, the sad tale of ACR has been front and center, with ChicagoJoey claiming recently that “cheating” is rife on Americas Card Room (ACR) naming “botting, collusion, multi-accounting and potential superusing” among the numerous ways the site is allowing regular players to be scammed, adding that ACR’s boss “doesn't give a f**k" about the situation.

ACR, which is the skin most synonymous with the Winning Poker Network, has struggled to deal with the countless accusations of cheating, terrible security and appalling customer service complaints which have been publicised since Ingram’s investigation.

This week’s latest poor show by the site, whose owner Phil Nagy has come in for serious criticism, as Ingram says above, has left the player bemused, confused and several thousand dollars worse off.

Playing under the nickname ‘lebrahnjames@TruePoker’, he explains:

“I've been playing w/ True for over a year now and have over $20,000 in BTC deposits and have paid thousands in rake. I'm a losing player and have never withdrawn once. The one time I bink a tourney for rough $4,200 they don't let me withdraw.”

Sharing details of his response from ‘Johnny V’ at the Winning Poker Network Support Team, which included multiple transactions dating back to 2015, he says:

“Have responded multiple times I've never seen these transactions and the username in question isn't me. The only responses I've received are just a list of transactions that I have no idea of.”

The network recently admitted to some of the problems Ingram raised, refunding players and stating they have “investigated and recently uncovered unfair gameplay practices”, but with other players also being deprived of their money, the small steps they have taken barely scratch the surface of the ACR problems…

As for the latest victim of ACR, ‘imeugenelee/ lebrahnjames@TruePoker’, he says:

“The 1.7k hit isn't going to impact my lifestyle, but I can confirm I've already taken off any other remaining funds on the site and won't be playing with WPN. Hope this convinces others to do the same.”
